Today I'm going to give you few tips on how to take more care of your hair.
Some of them you might have heard of, but never put into practice.
Following these steps will improve your hair condition radically!
1. Keep the split ends at bay
Split ends are the result of too much heat, like the use of straighteners or thongs too often, or too much stress.
To avoid this annoying problem try to use less of these burners and prefer more traditional methods.
To straighten your hair prefer blowdry with the brush instead of straightener, and to curl your hair prefer using rollers over night and let it dry like this instead of thong.
Go to a professional hairdresser to have it cut regularly and keep the split ends at bay, letting your hair grow healty in one direction.
2. Always use the hairdryer
Some people think that not using the hairdryer and letting the hair dry naturally on air is the best way to not using heat and doing so protecting the hair from the heat.
WRONG! Less heat is better than too much heat and no heat at all.
Leaving the hair wet equals to let it soak in too much wetness which will let your cuticle expand, ruining your hair worse than heat does!
3. Dab, not friction with the towel
Try not to friction the hair against the towel for drying, but instead prefer to dab it gently.
You will avoid hair breakage and a lot of stress to your hair.
4. To save time, leave the hair wrapped in towel
Once you finished washing the hair, wrap a towel around your head and leave it as much as you can before blowdrying the hair, at least 10 minutes.
This will save you a lot of time when using the hairdryer because the towel will absorb the excess water!
5. Use warm water, rinse with cold
Always prefer warm or lukewarm water instead of really hot water, which will damage and burn your cuticles and scalp.
Try to do the last rinse in cold water, this will close the cuticle letting your hair shine.
6. Conditioner or vinegar is a must
If you're not using a conditioner after the shampoo you're missing a very important step in your hair routine.
Conditioner helps your hair to stay moisturised and soft.
Please be sure to concentrate the conditioner only on the tips of the hair because on the scalp it will just put heaviness and greasiness to the hair.
Try to use apple cider vinegar as a last rinse, its benefits are well known for hair shining and for the pH balance and blood circulation of the scalp.
7. Always use leave-in oils on damp hair
You know leave in oils or styling oils are a nice thing for the hair to keep it moisturised, but it's wrong to use them on dry hair because the result will only be heaviness and not smoothness.
The oil will stay in the surface instead of penetrating in the dry hair.
Having it damp will let the water absorb the oil inside the cuticle of the hair.
And please be sure to only use natural products without silicones for true nourishment.
Silicones will only create a film on the surface of the hair and keep the inside dry.
8. Don't use thight hair ties
We know we can't always leave the hair loosen, especially at work or at the gym, but at least we need to tighten it gently.
If we pull the hair too strongly, we cause hair breakage and make the hair thin.
9. Brush the hair is good but watch out
Brushing the hair, besides keeping tangles away, spreads the natural oils from the root to the lenghts, keeping it naturally moisturised.
Be careful not to over brush it and to not brushing when the hair is still wet because it is more fragile.
10. Eating right, vitamins help
It's proven that healthy habits of eating and exercising give benefits to body and mind.
So, minerals and vitamins are also good for the hair health, keeping it good from the inside, giving everything they need to grow and to stay well.
